30 Day Challenge - Day 1
July 1st, 2008 · Filed Under: Abs Nutrition
OK, so today is Day 1 of the 30 Day Challenge.
How is it going for you?
I kicked off my day by teaching a 6 am women’s bootcamp class.
By the way, this was a perfect example of planning ahead.
We usually have bootcamp on Friday mornings, but since 4th of July is coming up this Friday, I moved that workout to today (we usually don’t have bootcamp class on Tuesdays).
After I came home, I did Interval Workout #2 according to the Bikini Abs Makeover system.
And then I had a breakfast of 3 eggs, and 2 nectarines which are two very tasty single ingredient foods.
Speaking of fruit, have you seen the latest pictures of Craig Ballantyne, author of Turbulence Training?
He is completely ripped and eats about 10 servings of fruit per day.
I know I will be increasing my fruit intake over the next 30 days.
How’s day 1 going for you?
I would love to read about it below. Just leave a comment.
And check out these 3 pictures of my clients I have helped and who have done some of the same workouts in the Bikini Abs Makeover program. They rock! : )
Have an amazing day.
Scott

Hi Scott,
I have decided to stay away from wheat and all kinds of wheat for the next 30 days. Instead I would increase my fruit and vegetables intake

When you say single ingredient foods….are you combining them? like chicken on lettuce with strawberries for a salad? or literally eating plain chicken with plain lettuce, etc.

Hi Scott,
I have been with you for the last 4 or 5 months and have learned a lot! Eating correctly is my challenge. I am intrigued by your single ingredient plan. Can I use marinades that I make myself, olive oil, fresh spices to flavor up the food? I know I am adding some fat with that, does that count since it has no additives or artificial ingredients?

Hi Scott,my 30 day challenge would be to have 6 servings of fruit and vegetable every day. So far today I’ve had 2 apples, 1/2 c fresh pineapple, a bowl of green salad and 1 mango. I hope to have 1 c. of cooked veg for dinner to meet my quota.

My husband actually receives your e-mails but I started reading them and found them to be right on!! I am 47 years old and recently lost weight by weight training, cardio and diet. I challenged myself big time and entered a Figure competition with the NPC and actually did really well. I have to tell you, your challenge is great! I am putting it to the test also and doing your challenge with the single ingredient foods. My diet before was about the same and really worked well (especially in my abdominal area) I am amazed at how I look now versus how I looked just a year ago! A lot of hard work and motivation, but if I can do it, anyone can do it! Keep up your good work Scott because what you say; like I said is right on!

My challenge, since I eat relatively healthy already is this:
everytime I eat it has to be on a plate and at a table. I graze and eat alot while preparing for my feeding opportunities. So everything I eat has to be at the table, from a plate.
How would that change how you eat?
Whenever I ask that of someone…they freak! Kind of funny how our habits evolve!!

Scott; today I balanced my physical part of me with exercise/fruit smoothie/garden salad/Calli tea/Sunbar/mental part with the Crown Pull/emotional part-an attitude of
gratitude/spiritual part by connecting to a higher power. I end my day by connecting all these together to create harmony & balance in my body. I am eating only fruits & vegetables and no

My goal is to drink 8-10 glasses of water every day consistently. I typically do this okay for a few days and then get off course. I’m challenging myself to be consistent. Perhaps try the single foods method too! Fingers crossed I can form a good habit with this challenge!

Keep up the great work everyone!!
Carly - yes your homemade marinades will work. I add extra virgin olive oil to salads and you are just adding spices to that which I am also allowing. I am allowing salt in my plan as some of the peanut butter and some of the nuts I eat have salt.
I love that so many people have jumped on board.
Keep it up!

I’m right on board with ya Scott! Single ingredient challenge…here I come…LOL. I’ll be cutting out those no sugar, fat-free fudgcycles (which will be hard) they are full of chemicals and ingredients I can’t read! Yogurts gonna be tough to cut out though! Cheers to all of you undertaking this task…..let’s hope for abundant success…GOOD LUCK!
