Hey there.

Would you like to know what you should never, ever order in a restaurant if you want a flat stomach and six-pack abs.

Just check out the video below and get ready to laugh a little. : )

It does have some truth to it - portion sizes at restaurants ARE sometimes this big.

30 Day Challenge - Day 6

July 6th, 2008

It’s day 6 of your 30 Day Challenge.

Yesterday was Saturday, but it wasn’t too difficult for me.

I did some sprint training in the morning and finished off the workout with some bleachers.

I stayed in last night, a got a little work done and didn’t really have any temptations.

I want to get some feedback from you, though.

Is going through this challenge together helping you at all?

Is it helping you overcome some obstacles that you previously had trouble overcoming.

We’re almost through 1 week and I’m just curious if this has been worthwhile for you, if you’ve gotten something out of it and what other type of support you would like.

Please post your comments.

Have an amazing day!

Scott

P.S for the ladies, if you want to get on a private phone call with me, and Mom’s Fitness Expert Holly Rigsby, check out Bikini Abs Makeover. : )

30 Day Challenge - Day 5

July 5th, 2008

All right, it’s Saturday and day 5 of the 30 day challenge.

By the end of today we’ll already be 1/6th of the way through.

See it’s not too bad.

OK, so I had some temptations to deal with yesterday.

I saw the movie Wanted yesterday afternoon, which is a great action flick.

I recommend seeing it if you haven’t already.

Movies aren’t a big temptation because it’s rare that I want any movie snacks.

I mean, who wants to pay 4 bucks for a candy bar anyway?

But I knew we were headed to a happy hour afterwards so I planned ahead and got a Jamba Juice smoothie for the movie.

That way I wouldn’t be starving after the movie.

So after the movie my friends and I went to a happy hour at a place called Blue Mesa.

While they wolfed down chips and salsa, quesadillas, and margaritas, I had a chicken salad and some ice water.

My friends were giving me a little bit of the business, calling me the “Single Ingredient Guy” by the end of the night, but it was all in good fun.

We finished up at another bar where my friends drank some more and we all played some pool.

It was a fun night and I think I planned well.

I hope you had a great Friday and 4th of July.

I would love to hear how you’re doing.

Post your comments.

What’s working for you and what isn’t?

Do you need help?

Let’s all help each other.

That’s the best way to get through this.

Have an amazing day.

30 Day Challenge - Day 4 - Happy 4th of July!

July 4th, 2008
· Filed Under: Abs Exercise · Abs Nutrition

Ok everyone it’s day four of the 30 Day Challenge.

AND, here in the U.S. it’s the 4th of July.

Happy 4th!

Here’s where it make start to get tricky.

It’s a holiday for some of you.

And the weekend for everyone.

Holidays and weekends are usually times where people eat differently.

So you REALLY need to plan here.

If you’re going to a party or going out to eat, how will you overcome the obstacles that are thrown your way?

If you’re going out to eat, perhaps you can order a salad right away while everyone else is eating appetizers.

Or if you’re going to a pool party, eat a big salad before you go there to satisfy your appetite.

If you’re 30 Day Challenge is workout related, perform your workout as early in the day as possible before you head out for fun.

Do a quick 4-minute or 10 minute high intensity circuit at home.

There are plenty of examples in the Bikini Abs Makeover program.

Or if you need more structure in your diet for the remaining days, check out The Carb Rotation Diet.

We’re in this together! : )

It’s going pretty well for me, but the weekend has just begun.

If you are finding it hard, remember set up your environment to succeed.

Get rid of any temptations in your home.

If you feel like eating something you shouldn’t, create a diversion.

Go for a walk, or a drive….call a friend, or post a comment on this blog.

Let’s all share what’s working and what isn’t.

Have an amazing day!

July 3rd, 2008

It’s day 3 of the 30 day challenge.

I had some eggs and an apple for breakfast.

I can already feel that my energy level has increased and I’m doing better in my workouts.

How’s it going for you?

Has it been easy?

Or has it already been challenging?

4th of July is coming up tomorrow in the U.S.

Do you need to do something to plan ahead and avoid obstacles?

Keep sharing your experiences by leaving a comment.

This is the best way to get continued support and stay on track.

Have an amazing day.

30 Day Challenge - Day 1

July 1st, 2008

OK, so today is Day 1 of the 30 Day Challenge.

How is it going for you?

I kicked off my day by teaching a 6 am women’s bootcamp class.

By the way, this was a perfect example of planning ahead.

We usually have bootcamp on Friday mornings, but since 4th of July is coming up this Friday, I moved that workout to today (we usually don’t have bootcamp class on Tuesdays).

After I came home, I did Interval Workout #2 according to the Bikini Abs Makeover system.

And then I had a breakfast of 3 eggs, and 2 nectarines which are two very tasty single ingredient foods.

Speaking of fruit, have you seen the latest pictures of Craig Ballantyne, author of Turbulence Training?

He is completely ripped and eats about 10 servings of fruit per day.

I know I will be increasing my fruit intake over the next 30 days.

How’s day 1 going for you?

I would love to read about it below. Just leave a comment.

And check out these 3 pictures of my clients I have helped and who have done some of the same workouts in the Bikini Abs Makeover program. They rock! : )

Have an amazing day.

Your 30 Day Challenge

June 30th, 2008

Have you ever watched the show 30 Days?

It was created by Morgan Spurlock who made the movie Super Size Me.

Remember that one? Morgan ate McDonalds 3 times a day for 30 straight days.

Well in his show 30 Days, Morgan puts someone in an environment (sometimes himself) that they are not used to for 30 straight days.

One time Morgan and his girlfriend lived on minimum wage for 30 days.

Anyhow, I want you to challenge yourself for the NEXT 30 DAYS starting on July 1.

What’s my 30 Day Challenge?

I’m going to be eating only single ingredient foods for the next 30 days and will post regular updates on the blog.

Check out the video below so you can get a better idea of what I’m doing and how I will succeed on this.

Then I want you to pick YOUR own 30 Day Challenge and post a comment on the blog about what you plan to do.

Perhaps you will do the same thing I am doing?

Maybe you will give up all sweets or alcohol for the next 30 days.

Or perhaps you will follow the Bikini Abs Makeover system step by step for the next 30 days.

Pick something that will challenge you. Get a little out of your comfort zone.

YOU decide.

YOU’RE in control.

When you decide on your challenge, please leave a comment and tell us what you plan to do for the next 30 Days!

Have an amazing day.

What’s Bothering You?

June 23rd, 2008
· Filed Under: Abs Exercise · Abs Nutrition

I was in Los Angeles, California this weekend for a business conference and I’m actually still here for a few more hours until I get back to Dallas tonight.

I learned something very important.

I need to be listening to you more.

Talking to you more.

Finding out what you need.

And asking you how I can help you.

So I want to start out by doing this…

I want to start out by asking you this question.

What’s bothering you?

In terms of your fitness or your weight or health what is really frustrating you?

What do you need help with?

But I want you to do a little bit more with this.

I want to challenge you and have you dig a little deeper into your emotions.

So for example instead of just telling me I can’t seem to lose these last 20 pounds, I want you to tell me why that bothers you.

How does it make you feel?

Maybe you felt embarrassed because you just went to the beach with your friends and
you were ashamed to take your shirt off or walk around in your bikini.

Perhaps someone made a comment that it looks like you’ve put on a few pounds and that’s
bothering you.

Or maybe there is something about your health that is affecting your relationship with your
spouse and this is making you sad and unloved.

So I really want to you dig a little deep on this one and tell me what’s bothering you
and the emotions you are feeling.

You can also ask me any questions you need help with and I will do my best to help you as
much as I can.

Just leave your comments here…

I appreciate it and I can’t wait to help you more. : )

Have an amazing day.

Lose Weight on the McDiet

June 20th, 2008

On no, here we go again!

Didn’t I just write about how unhealthy Jared and his Subway Diet was?

Well now comes a story about Chris Coleson, a man who took his waist size from 50 inches to 36 inches in 6 months eating nothing but McDonalds.

Give me a break!

You can read the full story about the McDiet.

He started at 286 pounds and went on a 1400 calorie diet - a very restrictive calorie diet for a man his size.

It gets better.

He skipped breakfast every day.

He primarily ate salads, wraps and sandwiches.

Wait, it gets even better.

He was on Good Morning America talking about it.

Apparently this is newsworthy.

He probably was doing this for the publicity anyway - a Jared wannabe.

Who knows how McDonalds is going to use this positive publicity to their advantage.

Please leave your opinion and don’t hold back.

I want to hear what everyone has to say. : )

Have a great weekend.

Cereal and Six-Pack Abs

June 19th, 2008

Today I want you to take a close look at the ingredient list of your cereal box.

I’m looking at an old box of Kellogg’s Smart Start Healthy Heart Cinnamon Raisin cereal.

On the front it says contains ingredients that may help lower BOTH blood pressure and cholesterol.

A tempting reason to want to buy the cereal to say the least.

But upon further examination of the ingredients, here is what it contains…

Oat Bran, Sugar, Rice, Raisins, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Glycerin, Dextrose, Malt Flavor, Potassium Chloride, Salt, Cinnamon, Coconut and Palm Kernel Oil, Baking Soda, Ascorbic Acid, Niacinamide, Zinc Oxide, Wheat Starch, Calcium Pantothenate, Reduced Iron, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Thiamin Hydrochloride.

The last few ingredients are the vitamins and minerals.

But the point is that ingredient number 2 is sugar.

Ingredient number 5 is high fructose corn syrup.

And a few other ingredients I don’t know what they are, but they don’t sound good.

Sugar and high fructose corn syrup are exactly the type of ingredients you should be avoiding.

Meanwhile take a container of oats.

You know what the ingredients are?

Well actually there is only one - 100% natural whole grain rolled oats.

My point is you really need to watch what your eating - especially foods like cereals that make claims to be healthy but actually are probably ruining your efforts at getting a flat stomach and six-pack abs.

You want to eat as many single ingredient foods, like oatmeal and eggs, and less of these foods like cereal.

I know people that eat cereal for breakfast in the morning and for dinner at night.

If you’re doing that, you’re setting yourself way back.

I’ve only had cereal once since last August and that was when I was home at my parents house for Christmas.

Other than that, I don’t eat it anymore and I’ve gotten by stomach flatter and leaner than it’s ever been.

For a list of the types of foods you shoud be eating to strip away belly fat, check out Bikini Abs Makeover.

And get yourself on a good nutrition program like The Carb Rotation Diet.

I would love to get your feedback and your opinions on cereal.

Just leave a comment here.

Have an amazing day.
