Apropos Jim's comment, "starving" usually means low blood sugar. Do we eat our meals backwards? A calory-rich dessert first would raise blood sugar and suppress apetite for the main course. Salad last would aid digestion, and even clean sugar off the teeth.

I think the big thing people do is go out to eat when they are STARVING. And it's all downhill from there. Another reason it's important to eat those small, frequent, nutritious meals.

I think this was all GREAT advice! I think during the week I do pretty awesome with my meals and not eating what I shouldn't but it's the weekends that kill me when I'm out with my boyfriend and we eat out for every meal! Some of the strategies I just didn't think about doing such as ordering a salad right away to eat instead of the bread/chips. Also, I worked in a restaurant for many years while in college and I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that most restaurants cook ("steam") their veggies in butter and while I can't speak for every restaurant out there, I know the one I worked at, you could totally order veggies without the butter. It's a pain in the butt since everything is pre-portioned but most restaurants have boxes of the veggies in the cooler and it would just take a few minutes to go get it and cook it in olive oil or just plain so don't be afraid to ask!
