Flat Belly Secret #13 Comments
OK, this is going to be a six part series on 6 secrets to getting a flat belly. Maybe I should have called it 6 Secrets to Six Pack Abs, huh? Oh well.
Now these secrets are pretty basic and may not be secrets at all. But not many people are doing all 6. If they were, we’d all be walking around with flat stomachs, right?
OK, enough with the gibberish. Let’s get down to business.
Flat Belly Secret #1
You don’t need to spend 1-2 hours in the gym to get a flat stomach.
As a fitness professional, I’ve heard all the excuses in the book for skipping a workout: too busy, gym is too crowded or too far, don’t have my workout clothes or sneakers, it’s too hot or cold outside. And the list goes on and one. But by far the #1 excuse I hear over and over again for skipping a workout is, “I don’t have enough time.”
Well let me break it down for you: there are 1,440 minutes in a day. Can you spare 20 minutes or less and dedicate that time to exercising and reducing your belly fat? If you said “no” you should just stop reading this Flat Belly Secrets series right now. If you said “yes”, then great! That will still give you 1,420 minutes to get the rest of your stuff done during the day.
I prefer to workout about 20 minutes, 6 days a week. You may prefer 45 minutes a day, 3 days a week, which works well too. If you like that schedule better, then I recommend you check out Turbulence Training.
That’s flat belly secret #1. I’ll be back tomorrow with flat belly secret #2. Make sure you click the “Like” button, Ok? Thanks!

WORST Diet Advice EVERNo Comments »
Before I go into the worst diet advice ever, I wanted to tell you about a presentation that I think has some of the BEST diet advice ever.
You can check it out here –> Best Diet Advice
OK, so now on to the worse diet advice ever. You’ve probably heard some or all of these. WARNING: Don’t follow any of this advice.
1) Low fat diets are good for you...
Some fats are actually good for you and your body needs them. The body needs fat for energy, tissue repair and to transport vitamins A, D, E and K around the body.
Don’t try and follow a low fat diet. Instead eat plenty of unsaturated fats (and even some saturated fats that are good for you).
2) Diet foods can help you drop pounds…
Wrong again.
Diet foods can actually make you fatter. You may be doing yourself more harm than good by scanning labels for the lowest calorie and fat counts. Prepackaged diet foods can have a lot of sugar and trans fat.
3) The more you cut calories, the more weight you’ll lose…
A lot of people make this mistake and they gain weight in the long run. Cut your calories too far—below 1,000 a day—and you’ll end up decreasing your metabolism and muscle mass.
To get the most out of the calories you do eat, choose whole foods such as fruits and vegetables, lean meat and fish, raw nuts and whole grains that are as close to their natural state as possible.
They have a higher “nutrient density” than refined foods, because they pack more vitamins and minerals into fewer calories.
So make sure you DON’T follow the diet myths presented above and that you DO follow the best diet advice found here in this presentation:

I’ve got a great article for you today from world class fat loss expert, Tom Venuto.
How To Gain Muscle And Lose Fat At The Same Time
by Tom Venuto, author of the Holy Grail Transformation
“How can I gain muscle and lose fat at the same time?” That’s right up there with “How do I get six pack abs” as one of the most frequently asked fitness questions of all time. The problem is, when you ask it, you get all kinds of conflicting answers – even from experts who are supposed to know these things. So what’s the deal? Is it really possible to lose fat and build muscle simultaneously?
Short answer: Yes, you can gain muscle and lose fat at the “same time.”
Long answer: It’s difficult and it’s complicated. Allow me to explain….
First we have the issue of whether you really lose fat and gain muscle at the “same time.”
Well, yes, if your definition of the “same time” is say, a month or 12 weeks. But in that case, you’re probably not gaining muscle at the “same time” literally speaking, as in, right now this very moment you are reading this, or 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for months in a row.
The best explanation for what’s really happening is that you alternate between periods of caloric surplus (anabolism) and caloric deficit (catabolism) and the net result is a gain in muscle and a loss in body fat.
You see, if you stay in a calorie surplus, it’s the body’s natural tendency for body fat and lean body mass to go up together. And if you stay in a calorie deficit, it’s your body’s natural tendency for body fat and lean body mass to go down together.
There may be exceptions, but the general rule is that it is very difficult to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time – the mechanisms are mostly antagonistic to one another. When it does happen, it’s almost always the result of “unusual conditions” – I call them X factors.

Howdy!
I interviewed my good friend, Scott Tousignant, creator of Unstoppable Fat Loss, as we took some of YOUR questions on “how to stay motivated” and answered them (the audio is at the very bottom of this post).
Here is what Scott and I covered coming directly from you, the readers out there…
“I tried so many diet and exercise programs but only successful stay motivated for few weeks. After that, I’m back to my old habits and start eating unhealthy and impulsive again. How do I keep on my program without falling off the wagon? Please help.”
“What do you feel is the best goal setting method to achieve my desired physique and do you feel goals are a necessary component to staying motivated.”
“How do I stay motivated after I reach my goal – it’s as though whenever I reach the goal, I give myself permission to slide a little because it won’t have much of an effect. Until I yo-yo back where I was!”
“How do you get yourself to work out hard if you are working out alone? I have problems doing intervals since I can’t seem to make myself bump the intensity.”
“I am 55 have been going to gym about 6 years but for past 3 years maybe 2 days a week for one thing I cant see any results anymore AND it is so hard to get up at 4:00 and be at gym by 6:00 I have the desire and I know at my age I REALLY need to go”
“How can i get back to being motivated after being stressed out”
Enjoy the audio clip, and get motivated!
Oh and please leave your comments about the audio. Did you like it? Did it help at all?
If you would like be to create a whole motivational program on getting and staying motivated in your diet and exercise program, please let me know that as well.

My 25 Day Transformation With The Xtreme Fat Loss Diet3 Comments
I’ve been done with the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet for over 2 weeks now, but I’m just now getting around to showing you the final results of my 25 day fat loss journey.
Let me back up a little bit to the end of February so I can share a story with you. Back on February 27 I was working out with some of my bootcamp members on a Saturday morning on a track at SMU. In usual Scott Colby fashion, it was an intense workout. But this time, the workout got the better of me.
Towards the end of the workout, I felt really light headed to the point where I had to kneel down and stop exercising. I was told by the other exercisers that I looked really pale. After drinking some water and sitting for a few minutes, I still wasn’t feeling much better, so we played it on the safe side and called the paramedics.
Here are some pictures…

My Personal Life Changing StoryNo Comments »
Today I’d like to share a personal story with you.
Back in 2007, I almost passed up an opportunity that, as it turned out, changed my body, my business career and my life.
I wanted to desperately take an adventure trip, but was hesitant on spending so much money. Most of the trips that I was looking at cost well over two thousand dollars plus airfare, which was a lot of money to me. But I finally decided on a trip to Colorado, about an hour west of Vail for about 1800 bucks.
And the decision to take that trip was one of the most critical decisions of my life.
You see, when I went on the trip, I wasn’t in very good shape. But there’s something about getting away from the daily grind of running a business (or going to a job or taking care of family) and spending a week in the mountains that allows you to do some soul searching, and reflect on where your life is headed.
Check out these pictures from my Colorado Adventure...
It was while I was on the trip that I decided to make some changes in my health and my business.
Immediately after returning from my Colorado trip, I created a 12 week “Abs Transformation” program that I followed and allowed me to get six pack abs for the first time.
Check out my before/after pictures at the bottom of this post…
I then started my blog, The Abs Expert, and created the Abs Uncrunched training program. Since then, I have helped literally thousands of people in my bootcamps and online shed bodyfat and get a flatter stomach.
My online success allowed me to live out one of my lifelong dreams – I actually got to move to Colorado, which is something that I’ve been wanting to do for years.
And all of this came about from making the decision to spend the money and take my adventure trip to Colorado. If I hadn’t done so, I’m sure I wouldn’t be anywhere close to where I am today. I’d probably still be struggling with my health and my business.
One more thing, I know other folks who have taken similar adventure trips to the one that I’ve taken, and they’ve come back completely changed. They’ve gotten out of bad relationships, gotten into new ones and have gone on to get married.
Others have left dead end careers and have pursued new opportunities that have made them much happier.
But what about you? What decision are you going to make today?
Are you going to take action and discover the other side of YOUR personal life-changing story?
Or are you going to let this opportunity slip away?
Tomorrow, the early bird special for the Fitness Adventure ends.
Give yourself a chance.
My challenge to you is to take action. Come on this journey with me and join us in the Rocky Mountain Fitness Adventure.
It may just be the decision that completely changes your life.
Join me in Colorado.
Your friend,
Scott
