Pull Up Test - Revisited
October 13th, 2008 · Filed Under: Abs Exercise
I didn’t really like the bar I used for my initial pull up test because it was thicker than I’m used to, and that pull up bar is not convenient to my home.
So I went to a park closer to my apartment and re-did my max on the pull up bars there. They are actually monkey-bars.
I may buy a pull up bar so I can have it for my home. The pull up training is coming along slowly but surely.

Seven?! Oh, yeah - you’re going down, my friend. I won’t even need my Old Man handicap! (I’ll go ahead and take it, though - you know, just in case.) - Stephen

Hi Scott,
You won’t believe what I am going to tell you, but my brother in law told me he was could do 50 reps (wide grip pull ups) but I thought he was just bragging, so I didn’t take it seriously. Well it turned out that he gave me a pull up bar for my home and just in front of me he did 30 reps without even sweating! he stopped for less than a minute to teach me the right way to do them and resume for another 25 reps!. I can assure you that he did the negative part very slowly in each rep, and he fully extended his arms at the bottom of the exercise, needless to say that at the top of the movement, he reached the bar with his chest and stopped for 1 second before the negative part. Wow, and he is 40!.
N.B. Of course I barely could a couple of reps.
