Regis Interviews Me for Abs Uncrunched / Mercury Found in HFCS11 Comments
Hey I was in Los Angeles last weekend for a business conference, and I was doing a little book tour for Abs Uncrunched. Two celebrities interviewed me about my book including Regis Philbin. We captured it on video and you can watch the entire interview below. I would love to hear your comments. I’ll talk about the other interview next week.
Even more important was an article I read about a new study that says high fructose corn syrup contains mercury. “Almost half of tested samples of commercial high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) contained mercury, which was also found in nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products where HFCS is the first- or second-highest labeled ingredient, according to two new U.S. studies.”
Because there are lots of foods that contain high fructose corn syrup and mercury is toxic, our health could be in even more danger than we though by consuming HFCS. Especially kids health as they consume even more HFCS than adults. Of course the corn refiners organizations are saying it’s a bogus study and blah blah blah.
My opinion is simple – nothing good is gained by eating foods with HFCS at all. It’s not nutritious so why bother eating any foods with HFCS in the first place? What’s your opinion? And what do you think of these new findings?
Have an amazing day and enjoy the video of Regis and I.

Colby! It was a pleasure to interview you…now, I’ve gotta get back to working my triceps!

I agree – why even eat the junk that contains HFCS. Stay away from processed, devoid of all nutrients foods and you will be healthier. I really feel for people who are blissfully ignorant of all the harm these foods wreak on our health and our children’s health.

Why isn’t Regis in the video? Is that really Regis?

Sorry, but Regis who?

Clearly not the real Regis. What’s sad is that I know Regis’s voice well enough to know it’s not him in the video.

this is a critical topic. for our health and for the health of our children. this non-nutritive, cell clogging, highly processed and health inhibiting. most disease today is PREVENTABLE. staying away from this is a step in the right direction!
how can something seemingly so insignificant be such a risk? the food industry uses it in so many packaged and processed foods. HFCS is one of the reasons corn is the most subsidized crop in America and why the farmer is often on the brink of bankruptcy. it really should be considered a crime.
there is a great article representing the recent HFCS topic at NaturalNews.com sorry! not good at the link thingy. i will post it on my blog later today if anyone is interested

I’m sorry, but Regis Who? I don’t think we’re thinking of the same Regis Philbin. Good try though!
Nice on emphasising that you don’t need to crunch. Stabilizing movements are better than crunches and situps. Things like the plank especially.

Scott;
This is a good way to entertain as well as to get your message across!!Thanks for sharing!!
As for the mercury-10 years ago I almost went into a coma because of mercury poisoning from my fillings in my teeth and since then I have been well aware of mercury and various things it is found in- a lot of mercury is found hidden in our foods..thanks for the reminder of how toxic it is..Helen
