A couple years ago I remember that Oprah started up an intense bootcamp program with her trainer Bob Greene.
She then opened it up to the public on her website so you could join in and participate it, get motivation from her and have support from other members.
I always wondered what Oprah would think of my bootcamps.
While she has never heard of me or seen my bootcamps, if she ever did visit my camp, I bet she would like what she saw.
My bootcamps and Oprah’s bootcamp have several similarities…
1) Her bootcamps and mine both include weight training as a way to create new lean tissue, boost metabolism, blast fat and build a new sexy body.
2) Oprah’s bootcamp and mine both include aerobic and anaerobic training.
She seems to place more emphasis on steady state, moderate intensity, longer workouts and my bootcamps include more high intensity, interval training and shorter workouts.
But you can get great results with both.
3) We both empahsize eating lean protein and eliminating white flours (white bread, pasta, rice), simple sugars (candy, cake, cookies) and alcohol from your diet.
These foods inhibit fat loss and have little nutritional value.
4) Oprah’s bootcamp and mine both show you the need for support.
With the support, encouragement and motivation of the other bootcamp members going through the exact same thing that you are, it is much easier to get great results and have fun doing it at the same time!
So as you can see there are lots of similarities between Oprah’s bootcamp and mine.
I invite her to come to Dallas and try mine some day. It’s a blast.
You may want to find a fitness bootcamp in your local area. They are a lot of fun and very effective at getting you great results quickly.
And I invite any ladies in the Dallas area to check out our Women’s Fitness Camp.
We have a new camp starting on March 17.
Check out the video below from our fitness camps in 2007.
You may not know it, but besides doing teleseminars and videos, and posting on this blog, I also run a womens fitness bootcamp in Dallas, Texas. We always have a great group of women come out and get in a fun, intense workout. I have a blast teaching the class. The name of the bootcamp is called Her Strength.
Womens fitness is an important topic and more specifically I wanted to talk a little bit about strength training for women. I know there are still a lot of women that walk as their only means of exercise. While this is great that you are out there and moving, it’s not the best way to burn body fat and lose weight. One of the best things a woman (or a man) can do is to add strength training to your workouts. Strength training will help you build nice, sexy lean muscle, and boost your metabolism allowing you to burn fat calories all day long. You will feel strong, look great and be more confident. And you will decrease your risk of a number of ailments and diseases, osteoporosis being one of them.
So don’t forget, if you are not already doing so, you should be doing some sort of strength training as part of your workouts.
Check out some highlights of our womens fitness bootcamp in the video below. Some of the circuits we do in camp come from The Four Minute Workout DVDs. Hopefully the video will inspire you to get off your butt and just do it! : )
Oh and if you are in the Dallas area, check out our Her Strength Fitness Camp. These are a great group women and I am proud of the commitment that each one of them has shown in class.
