How to Save Almost $15,000 on Your Four Minute Workouts

November 19th, 2008

Four Minute WorkoutsWant to know how to save almost $15,000 on your Four-Minute Workouts?

This is kind of a funny story that I wanted to share with you.

There’s this guy out in California who sells this funny looking exercise gizmo for $14,615.

It’s called the ROM 4-Minute CrossTrainer.

It’s a funny looking machine.

He has a website where you can see a picture of it.

His website is fastexercise.com

Check it out if you want. This thing is huge.

I don’t know where the heck you would put it, or how you would even move it.

I think lifting it would be your workout. :)

Now the thing that I that I thought was funny was that the guy admits his machine has a very high selling price, but he says the ROM 4-minute workout is the ‘absolute least expensive method of exercise available
to all income groups above the poverty line.’

Is that so?

Are you telling me there are no other exercise methods cheaper than 15 grand?

Try my Favorite 4-Minute Workout System.

It’s much much cheaper…and you won’t be getting any weird looks wondering what that huge exercise gizmo is in your home.

Have an amazing day.

Quick Workouts: Running a Six-Minute Mile - Abs Uncrunched Show Episode #7

November 18th, 2008

On Sunday, I tested myself on performance goal #2 (out of 4) - attempting to run a 6-minute mile.

When I initially tested myself on October 5 in the one mile run, it took me 6 minutes and 15 seconds to run it.

So I had to knock 15 seconds off the time.

Check out the video to see if I did it.

By the way, if you think you can’t get a good workout in 6-minutes, just try running a mile as fast as you can.

It’s an amazing quick workout….and…

I bet you’ll change your thinking. ;)

I often do a 4-Minute Workout for Fat Loss which can wear me down as well.

Thanks for watching.

I would love to hear your feedback.

Scott Colby Eats Oreos and is Threatened to Be Sued - Abs Uncrunched Show Episode 6

November 15th, 2008

Friday was an interesting day for me. Cookie Monster

I was minding my own business, working from home, when all of the sudden there was a knock at my door.

It was Federal Express handing me a letter coming from a law firm in Miami, Florida.

Apparently they didn’t like what I had to say about a certain diet that I talked about in the Abs Uncrunched Show Episode 2 and 3 and they are threatening to sue me if I don’t take down the blog posts and videos.

Among other things they said, “Your false and malicious statements have injured, and continue to injure, my clients’ business reputation and associated trademarks. Within twenty-four hours (24) of your receipt of this letter, you are hereby demanded to (1) cease and desist your improper conduct, and (2) remove (and/or cause the removal of) from any websites )including, without limitation, any websites, directly or indirectly, owned, operated and/or controlled by you, and/or any social networking/sharing websites, such as YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, etc) any and all reference (direct or indirect and express or implied) to (name of diet withheld), my clients’ products, and my clients’ trademarks, including, without limitation:

They then proceed to tell me to take down my entire blog posts of the Abs Uncrunched Show Episode 2 and Episode 3, the related videos and all comments.

My video response is below.

I would love to hear your feedback…

Have an amazing day.

How Mom’s Can Blast Belly Fat - The Abs Uncrunched Show - Episode #5

November 12th, 2008

My friend Holly Rigsby has created an incredible community of mom’s who are blasting belly fat, making friends, and having just a downright good ‘ole time.

Her training system that she developed is called Fit Yummy Mummy and she even put together a fun, supportive community of mom’s called Club FYM.

Holly has even helped a woman named Deb who is 51 years young and has had 8 kids slim down to a size 4.

Anyway, Holly recently met up with some Fit Yummy Mummy’s in Dayton Ohio for some lunch, shopping and lots and lots of laughing. :)

Check it out, in the latest episode of the Abs Uncrunched Show

Have an amazing day.

Scott

P.S. Those in or near Dallas, if you want to get together to meet for some fun (without the shopping), just leave a comment right here.

Here’s a picture of Holly and I back in September at a conference.

We Honor Our Veterans - Happy 233 Birthday United States Marine Corps

November 11th, 2008

I’d like to take a moment to honor and recognize our veterans (including my dad) who have served our country to protect us and fight for our freedom.

My dad served in the United States Marines Corps and today the USMC turns 233 years old.

The birthplace of the Marine Corps is right in the heart of Philadelphia.

On November 10, 1775, the Continental Congress commissioned Samuel Nicholas to raise two Battalions of Marines.

That very day, Nicholas set up shop in Tun Tavern, Philadelphia.

He appointed Robert Mullan, then the proprietor of the tavern, to the job of chief Marine Recruiter — serving, of course, from his place of business at Tun Tavern. Prospective recruits flocked to the tavern, lured by (1) cold beer and (2) the opportunity to serve in the new Corps of Marines.

So, yes, the U.S. Marine Corps was indeed born in Tun Tavern.

Needless to say, both the Marine Corps and the tavern thrived during this new relationship.

My dad (and other family members) in the picture below. Thanks dad for your commitment and service to the country. :)

Here’s the workout we did in today;s bootcamp in honor!

Bear Crawling the Length of a Soccer Field - Abs Uncrunched Show Episode #4

November 10th, 2008

Hey there!

Saturday November 8 was a historic day for me.

You see, if you remember, I’ve got 4 performance goals that I want to conquer by Thanksgiving.

100 push ups

20 pull ups

run a 6-minute mile

bear crawl the length of a soccer field.

I decided to try and knock one off early - the bear crawl - so I can have the rest of the month to focus on the other 3.

So I decided to test myself on Saturday to see if I could do it.

When I initially tested myself about a month ago, I could only bear crawl a little more than halfway.

What do you think?

Do you think I made it all the way this time?

Watch and find out and please share your comments. :)

If you have any goals that you are going for, I would love to hear them.

Have an amazing day.

An Investigation of Eating Cookies for Weight Loss - Abs Uncrunched Show Episode 3

November 7th, 2008

So I didn’t plan on doing another entire Abs Uncrunched Show dedicated to the diet where you eat cookies for weight loss.

But after reading one readers’ comments about how much weight she has lost by eating cookies, I come to realize she just doesn’t get it.

And its not just her - millions of people who are on fad diets like this one just don’t get it.

So I decided to investigate further to see exactly what are the ingredients in one of these cookies anyway.

And how much do they cost?

So let’s back up a bit.

First let me show you what Jennifer wrote. She is the reader that advocates eating cookies for weight loss.

She wrote…

“I’m one of (name of doctor withheld) Arizona customers and I’ve lost 35 pounds on the (name of diet withheld)(25 in the first 6 weeks). One thing I love about this diet is it’s so convenient. Sure, if I had the time and money to eat the way you recommend I wouldn’t need cookies, but with these you just grab a bag in the morning and go. I used to hit the drive-thrus and binge often but the cookies have retrained me into eating some protein every few hours. (Name of diet withheld) customers are encouraged to eat lean proteins like chicken, fish or turkey plus lots of vegetables, and we also take a multivitamin and mineral pill (a supply comes with the cookies). The 800 calorie dinner is in addition to the cookies which have 90 calories, 5 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber each. Now that I’m at my goal weight I use the cookies in between meals to keep me from getting hungry and help me make the right food choices. As for the taste, they’re not very sweet because they only have 2 grams of sugar, but they’ve eliminated my sweet tooth. The Oatmeal Raisin are my favorites. Don’t knock the (name of diet withheld) it may not be for everybody but it’s what I needed to drop four dress sizes and feel good about how I look.”

I had a lot to say about what Jennifer wrote; please watch the show to see what I had to say because I got pretty fired up about it.

Please note: My initial video was removed as I received a letter from the law firm representing this company that promotes eating cookies to lose weight threatening legal action.

Jennifer I’m sorry to say, but you, like millions of other people, have been duped into throwing away your hard earn money to this fad diet.

I hope you take it to heart the message in the video.

Please note: My initial video was removed as I received a letter from the law firm representing this company that promotes eating cookies to lose weight threatening legal action.

I am saying these things to genuinely help you.

I did some research to investigate the ingredients of these cookies and how much they cost, since Jennifer claims that is expensive to eat healthy.

Here are the ingredients that is in one of the oatmeal raisin cookies.

WATER, GLYCERIN, WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, CRISP RICE (RICE, SUGAR, SALT, MALT), OATS, SOYBEAN OIL, MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE, RAISINS, MILK PROTEIN, VINEGAR, MODIFIED PALM OIL, BROWN SUGAR, BEEF PROTEIN HYDROLYSATE, EGG WHITE SOLIDS, WHEY, CANE SUGAR, WHEAT FLOUR, LEAVENING

(SODIUM BICARBONATE, SODIUM ACID PYROPHOSPHATE, CORNSTARCH, CALCIUM PHOSPHATE, CALCIUM SULFATE), WHEAT BRAN, ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, SALT, CINNAMON, NUTMEG, FD & C YELLOW #5, CALCIUM PROPIONATE (PRESERVATIVE).
ALLERGY WARNING: CONTAINS MILK, EGGS, SOY, AND WHEAT.

Now I ask you - are these ingredients full of nutrients and healthy?

Or are they lacking essential vitamins and minerals, and are unhealthy?

What do you think?

As for the nutritional label, here’s the pertinent information:

Serving Size: 1 cookie (24g)
Servings Per Container: 6 cookies
Calories: 90
Total Fat: 2.5g
Saturated Fat: 1g
Trans Fat: 0g
Cholesterol: 0mg
Sodium: 150mg
Total Carbohydrate: 11g
Dietary Fiber: 2g
Sugars: 2g
Protein: 5g

These cookies are very expensive too.

It costs $60 for a week’s supply of these cookies. That’s $240 a month - just on cookies!

Meanwhile I pointed out in my video that I had recently purchased 6 organic apples from Whole Foods for $2.

With her $60 that she spent on her week’s supply of cookies, Jennifer could have bought 180 apples!

Moreover Jennifer says she doesn’t have time to eat healthy.

How long does it take to:

…grab an apple

… grab a handful of almonds

… cook 1 minute oatmeal

… grab a hard boiled egg.

Not long, that’s for sure.

Please note: My initial video was removed as I received a letter from the law firm representing this company that promotes eating cookies to lose weight threatening legal action.

At the moment, I can’t show you the video, but…

…please leave your comments. I need to know what you think.

Have an amazing weekend.

Abs Uncrunched Show Episode 2 - Doctor Recommends Eating Cookies For Weight Loss

November 5th, 2008

A doctor recommends eating cookies for Weight Loss.

Have you seen this latest diet fad?

I was minding my own business last Thursday, surfing the internet as usual :) when I come across the headline that said a doctor was recommending actually eating cookies to lose weight.

I couldn’t believe what I was reading, so I had to investigate more.

Now there is a diet where you can eat some of your favorite foods that I am following until Thanksgiving.

But it doesn’t allow you to eat cookies every day!

Apparently this diet was invented quite some time ago by a doctor, but it made a local morning show out of Arizona.

Of course Yahoo and other news affiliates were quick to jump on the bandwagon for this latest diet fad like they always do.

One news show even promoted it by showing overweight women stuffing themselves with Oreos saying “imagine losing 15 pounds every month while eating cookies.”

Well, with further investigating, it turns out the cookies don’t even taste that great according to the doctor himself!

There are more major problems with the diet.

Watch this video about this diet of eating cookies and see why dietitians call it unhealthy.

And please leave your comments. Are you as sick of these diets as I am? I would love to know.

Have an amazing day.

Scott

Abs Uncrunched Show Episode #1 - How Does Diet Affect Your Workouts?

November 3rd, 2008

Today is episode #1 of my brand new Abs Uncrunched Show.

As I’ve mentioned recently, we’re in a dangerous time of the year. Halloween just came and went and Thanksgiving is around the corner.

Holiday weight gain season is here and many Americans gain 8-10 pounds of ugly fat.

NOW is the time to set some performance and diet goals - ones that you can achieve by Thanksgiving.

My performance goals are to do 20 pull ups, 100 push ups, run a 6-minute mile and bear crawl the length of a soccer field by Thanksgiving.

Now, I’ve discovered that the quality of my training is really affected by my diet - specifically how nutrient rich my diet is.

So I am pledging to really clean up my diet fore the next 21 days as I train to reach my performance goals.

A trip to Whole Foods this morning was a great start.

Just take a look in today’s episode…

Pull-Ups Revisited And 10 More Pumpkin Exercises

October 31st, 2008

Happy Halloween!

Halloween week ends on the blog but it’s been a lot of fun putting these videos together.

The first part of the video doesn’t have anything to do with Halloween.

I revisit my pull-up progress as I’ve been practicing 3 days a week for the past 3 weeks.

Remember my goal is to be able to do 20 by Thanksgiving, but I just wanted to gauge my progress and see if I could do 10 today.

The pull-ups went well, but I need to work on my form as I didn’t extend my elbows all the way at the bottom of the pull-ups.

The second part of the video shows you 10 more great exercises that you can do with a pumpkin.

Most of these were leg and cardio exercises, and I think you’ll enjoy.

If you actually do get a pumpkin and try these out, and you do me a favor?

Can you leave a comment on the blog and let me know what you think?

Thanks!

Have a great and safe Halloween

Scott
