What is bothering me most is the fact that I can't stay motivated for too long...

Like this morning, I woke up with a lot of drive and motivation and I took time to act upon it and subsequently, lost it.

That is really frustrating to me.

hi scott. what bothers me... well i have plenty of baggages that bother me. but i think all of these is anchored on the poor self image i have since i started putting on the weight. and i noticed how my partner has gone cold when i still keep the weight and he start losing his own body fats with exercise (35 lbs and still counting in 3 months). you know that stuff about "i love you the way you are, etc..." or those stuff you hear in romantic movies? i never heard that, but instead i got a lot of ribbing from him to lose the fat. i know i can do it but i dont want to do it for the wrong reason - to please him - or get even get even with him.am sure doing so would please me as well. but you know, for some reason, am also scared to be back in my previous form or better... there's something about being beautiful (again) that gives me the jitters. lol, i told you i have many baggages. but am psyching myself up again to get going and be the beautiful me again.

What bothers me Scott is to be with others who are consistently giving their power away to others-to allow others to control how they feel or how they should look-we as ladies need to be able to look good for ourselves and to feel good for ourselves and not to consistently give up our own enjoyment/fun/pleasure just to please our spouse/boyfriends/etc. I want to make sure I am eating right so I can look good for myself and feel good for myself and then others that are with me can reap the full benefits from that..Helen Cowan

Scott you are the best. You really show your concern for everyone, you really try to find out what makes people tick what does it take to make someone change their ways? In finding out you not only help yourself better understand people but will be better at helping others. I think people no matter what their circumstances are want the basic things. You are definitly on the right track. Its all emotional no matter what their goal is. You cant just tell someone do this or that and everything will be fine. I think its wonderful that you share a bit of yoursel. you let others know you are human, like sharing your cat what you are going to do for your 30 day challenge, sharing your messy apt:) you let others know you are not perfect either. And i truly believe you want to find the answers to help people. Again you are on the right track. Also i love the great music.

You know what's bothering me? ME! I'm a competitive bodybuilder - been competing for 5 years. Previous to competing, I was border-line obese. Got into a healthy life style, lost 40 lbs., then started weight training. The problem is I think bb'ing has turned me into an eating disorder. I diet clean (no cheats at all) for up to 26 weeks for my show, then afterwards, I am now a binge eater. It's like I start eating sugary foods (bakery and chocolate) and can't stop. My workouts are solid, my cardio is good, my diet is even good Mon - Fri - it's the weekends that my diet is a disaster. I know it's 'mind over matter' just like pre-comp, but I just can't seem to get back at it. Suggestions? (other than 'just do it')?

Hi!Well that's a good question "what bother's me?" I am exercising all week except on sundays. I alternate with some resistance training & intervals (or tabatas). I have seen some changes in my upper & lower boddy. I see more definition on my arms & shoulders which is great! What I want is to see more definition in my calves & ankles cause to me it feels like they have no shape.(they make one) I want to thin out that area of my leggs! Why does it bother me? well I am not capable to wear a skirt or shorts or a dress! That's how much I am conscious of these areas. What kind of exercices do you suggest to help me thin these body parts? Thanks for your reply!

The one thing that really bothers me is the last couple of inches on my waist. I have reduced from 36&1/2 to 33 but dont seem to be making any further progress

Hi,
Glad to hear you are getting to the core of weight loss for a huge percentage of people. This is what I talk about all the time on my blog. There is more to weight loss than opening or closing one's mouth.
I know from experience, after losing 68 pounds, that starting with diet and exercise is jumping into a lake up to your eyeballs, and not knowing how to swim.
I always go to the beginning or the core, ask questions first, find out what kind of eater they are, find out some basic answers and give them a road map.
You wouldn't get behind the wheel of a car without learning how first, would you?
Love your workout videos by the way.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment. I'm a 60 y.o., 5" 9" 180 lbs., with the statistical health of a 34 y.o.. My father was an excellent example of staying fit to me and I'm thankful he was. While my mother was over weight her whole life, she lived to 92. So, I think she must have been very healthy too despite her extra pounds.
4 years ago I went on the Peter D'Adamo Eating for your Blood Type diet and lost 60 pounds. I have been able to keep it off, but still have a belly fat look that you can just grab a hold of, and if you could just pinch it off, I'd look great. I guess it's about a 10-15 lb slab. I do Nia three times a week and am endeavoring to make the time to walk the three mile walking course near my home, so I can burn more fat. This could eliminate that last bit of jello in the middrift and inner thighs. I know that if the calories consumed excede the calories burned, there is no hope of getting rid of that last bit of excess. Thanks for your encouragement and great tips.

I am just starting (again) a fitness program and I need help with motivation and willpower! I had a friend ask me if I was still working out. He may as well have just said "you're getting fat"! Because that's what I heard! But I heard it and now I am back to exercising, but need some motivation! Thanks
